Machete sequel could film in April

Good new for fans of B-movie trashiness, as Robert Rodriguez has set the wheels in motion for action sequel Machete Kills. And what’s more, it could be with us sooner rather than later…
Having seen the first film make a respectable profit (a $44 million take against a $10.5 million budget), a script is reportedly in place for the sequel, with Rodriguez hoping to start filming in April.
Danny Trejo is reportedly in talks to reprise his role as the badass Mexican hit-man, and from the sounds of it, the new plot is even more out there than the original.
Machete Kills will see Trejo’s character attempting to foil the villainous machinations of a billionaire arms dealer, who plans to spread war across the globe with the assistance of a mega weapon… in space.
How Rodriguez has managed to resist calling this one Machete In Space is beyond us, but if the second film is a success, we could see him complete the trilogy with mooted second sequel, Machete Kills Again.
However, given that the long-promised Sin City 2 still remains no closer to fruition, we’d advise taking these grand plans with a pinch of salt…

Screenwriter Geoff LaTulippe Set to Direct a Comedy for Paramount
Some congrats is in order for one of our favorite up-and-coming screenwriters, and crazy twitterers, Geoff LaTulippe, who broke out in Hollywood with his script for the romantic comedy Going the Distance. He's been doing a lot of various writing work since, but now Deadline reports that he's landed an opportunity to direct a film for Paramount, an "untitled comedy" that they say he'll also write based on his own ensemble pitch. LaTulippe, who's moving up the ladder quickly in the industry, landed the gig after Paramount's president Adam Goodman saw a comedic short he made for agency WME, which LaTulippe directed for fun.
The story goes that LaTulippe made a short for WME featuring J.B. Smoove taking over the agency on Yom Kippur (watch that here). Paramount's Adam Goodman saw it, brought him in for a meeting, got a pitch and as the story goes in Hollywood, that's all it ...

Philip Seymour Hoffman Starring in Corbijn's John le Carré Adaptation
Some fantastic casting news for the day. FilmNation Entertainment has announced (via Variety) that Philip Seymour Hoffman is confirmed to star in Anton Corbijn's "modern day thriller" A Most Wanted Man, adapted from John le Carré's 2008 novel. FilmNation is shopping the film to buyers in Berlin at the fest starting this week, which is where the news comes from. Photographer-turned-filmmaker Anton Corbijn (Control, The American) is directing from a script written by Andrew Bovell (Head On, Edge of Darkness). Hoffman, who's already set to blow us away in PTA's The Master, is in the cast but no one else was added.
For those interested in le Carré's novel, here's a tantalizing tease via Amazon to set the tone of this thriller:

Mark of the Spider-Man - Viral Site for 'Amazing Spider-Man' Found
He's back! Now that everyone has been watching the second official trailer for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man over and over, we're all getting excited for the summer to come. I was watching the trailer in high def and at the end, noticed something very odd hidden quickly in the lower left of a frame, linking to an actual website. Spider-Man is getting a viral or ARG? Awesome! The phrase and website hidden is Mark of the Spider-Man, which I definitely think is the start of something bigger and I'm glad they're using the "mark" of the Spider-Man, because I'm loving the logos and spray-paint imagery from this movie (like this).
The words were found at around 2:28 into the new trailer in the lower left of the CG, which links to the site:
As of now there's nothing there on MarkoftheSpider-Man.com except some static video boxes and that Spider-Man logo that ...
